12. Ford BLIS (Blind Spot Information System) with Cross Traffic Alert

Starting with the 2017 model year, the Ford, F-150 now comes with the BLIS (Blind Sport Information System) with Cross Traffic Alert. The new technology is designed to help truck drivers detect and avoid vehicles that are in the driver’s blind spot when changing lanes. The Cross Traffic Alert feature of the system helps the driver detect other cars or trucks while backing the automobile up. The overall detection area of the system extends rearward from the truck mirrors to about 10 feet past the rear bumper which is sufficient distance to provide decision space to the driver to avoid a potentially costly accident.
