7. GPS-linked Temperature Control

Another favorite technology finding its way to trucks and SUVs is GPS-linked temperature control. The climate control system varies a bit from auto manufacturer to manufacturer; however, the basis of how the tech works is very similar. The climate control system communicates with the closest GPS satellites in order to help determine the auto’s position with regards to the sun and time of year. This information is in turn used to keep the sides of the auto that are facing the sun the same temperature as those that are on the shady side to ensure a balanced temperature throughout the vehicle. Depending on the model of SUV and truck being purchased, the tech may just be available on the current model year despite the fact that it first debuted several years ago.
