1. Prepaying for Gasoline is not a Good Deal
A number of the major car rental companies will push the gasoline prepayment option hard to their consumers. Although this appears appealing at first by avoiding having to find a gas station on the way back to the car rental dealership or the airport, most drivers will end up overpaying the rental agency for fuel they do not use with this option. For the busy individual or businessman or woman, this option can prove beneficial if you have an extremely early flight or think you might be running tight on your travel timelines when traveling via air. This option does pay off for the traveler who plans on returning the vehicle almost empty. Even for rental agencies who only charge you for the amount of fuel pumped, the cost will still be at a higher rate than stopping at the pump yourself.
