13. Ford F-Series (Second Generation)

One of the best looking trucks Ford produced, the F-Series trucks built between 1953 to 1956 were among hot rodders favorite vehicles. This version of the F-Series had increased dimensions, a better engine, and an updated chassis. They offered optional interior features previously unavailable in Ford’s trucks as well. Features like a dome light, lighter, arm rests, sun visors, and a radio. The Ford-O-Matic automatic transmission also became available for the F-Series in March of 1953. The flathead engine was abandoned for this model and instead a Y-block V-8, dubbed “Power King” was used and power steering was offered as an option. The second generation of the F-Series remains desirable among enthusiasts and hot rod builders to this day.
