18. 1932 Ford Model 18
The Ford Model 18 ( often referred to as the Ford V8) introduced Ford’s flathead V-8 engine. The Model 18 was the first low price, mass marketed car to have a V-8 engine in it, a milestone in the automotive industry. The engine was a 3.6 liter V-8 that produced 65 horsepower, but improvements to the carburetor and ignition system significantly increased power in the vehicle. The Model 18 was and still is extremely popular with hot rodders. A Model 18 was the pivotal racing car in American Graffiti, and the Model 18 body style is one of the most sought after styles for hot rodders. Due to their popularity among the racing scene, it is very rare to find an unmodified Model 18. Even today a Model 18 in good condition sells for a high price.
