3. Ford GT
The Ford GT is a mid-engine two-seater supercar that was produced by Ford from 2005 to 2006. The design is inspired by the Ford GT40 racing cars of the 1960s. The GT utilized new and unique technologies, including a superplastic formed frame, aluminium body panels, roll-bonded floor panels, a ship-in-a-bottle gas tank, one-piece door panels, and an aluminium engine cover with a carbon fiber inner panel. The mid-mounted engine is an all aluminium modular V-8 with a twin screw supercharger that produces 550 horsepower and 500 lb-ft of torque. This beast has a top speed of 205 mph and a zero to sixty time of 3.59 seconds. Ford is planning to bring the GT back for the 2016 production year and plans to have an engine producing over 600 horsepower.
