14. 2016 Chevrolet Equinox
The 2016 Chevrolet Equinox is technically classified as a crossover SUV. Critics of the Equinox, noting that the four-cylinder base engine is underpowered, prefer the additional boost that the V6 engine has to offer. The Chevy Equinox has an estimated mileage of 22/23 mpg city/highway, an average figure for the class. Though the Equinox lacks sportiness, the ride is smooth and comfortable.
The 2016 Equinox has a well-designed interior with spacious and comfortable seating even for long car rides. Some critics, however, feel that the rear headrests limit rearward visibility. Cargo space is excellent for the class with a total volume of 63.7 cubic feet. Standard features include a rearview camera, a USB port and a built-in WiFi hotspot. Optional features include an eight-speaker Pioneer sound system and Chevrolet MyLink.
