Built by Shelby SuperCars, the SSC Ultimate Aero was the ultimate car for a time. Between 2007 and 2010, the Ultimate Aero was the fastest car in the world. Able to reach a top speed of 257 mph earned the Aero the title. Under the hood rests a heavily modified Chevrolet engine coupled to a supercharger producing 1,287 horsepower and 1100 lb-ft of torque. Carbon fiber and titanium were used to keep the weight of the Ultimate Aero low, making it easier for it to reach blinding speeds. There is no denying the SSC Ultimate Aero’s potential. Once the world’s ultimate car, it should remain as one of the best supercars that ever existed.
