8. Porsche 918 Spyder
Top Speed: 211 mph
The Porsche 918 Spyder is a mid-engine plug-in hybrid supercar built as a successor to the Carrera GT. The mid-mounted V-8 engine delivers 608 horsepower, while an electric motor at the front and rear axle generates an additional 279 horsepower. These motors working in unison give the Spyder 887 horsepower and 940 lb-ft of torque. With the three motors working in unison, and Porsche’s seven speed dual clutch gearbox changing gears as it drives, the 918 Spyder has one of the most complex powertrains in production to date. The top speed of the Spyder is 211 mph, with a zero to sixty time of 2.2 seconds. The top speed may be less than others, but getting to 60 mph in 2.2 seconds is insanely fast.
