The Mini was an economy car made by the British Motor Corporation and its successors. Its iconic design influence a generation of car makers. It’s Great Britain’s answer to the German Volkswagen and Italian Fiat. The car was designed for BMC by Sir Alexander Arnold Constantine Issigonis, a Greek-British auto designer. The Mini was seen as a groundbreaking feat, eighty percent of the car’s floor plan could be utilized by the passengers for either themselves or luggage. The Mini Cooper and Cooper S were sport models that were successful rally cars, winning the Monte Carlo Rally several times in the late 60’s. BMW now owns the automotive marque MINI which specializes in small cars similar to the original Mini.
