6. Cadillac Catera
The Cadillac Catera has the misfortune to be one of the worst-selling and most disappointing cars in American and International car sales history. For reasons not disclosed publicly at the time, the company made the decision to build the Catera in Europe and then export the auto back to the U.S. Unfortunately, the Catera suffered from a large number of mechanical problems that resulted in a number of recalls by the car manufacturer. Once subsequent recalls of the auto were made by Cadillac, the public opinion shifted wholly against the automobile. The company originally targeted the model to young auto drivers over the age of 18, but despite using Cindy Crawford in her prime to advertise the vehicle, it just never got popular with the masses. The company ceased manufacturing the vehicle in 2001 after its sales dropped to an all-time low.
