8. Blind Spot Monitoring

Blind spots, every car has them and some are worse than others. The blind spot monitoring system is a newer feature that every car manufacturer should be putting into their cars. The system works by mounting an electronic detection device on the sides of the car that send out electromagnetic waves, or takes computer processed images with a camera and analyzes them. If anything gets too close to your car while you are driving or attempting to change lanes, a warning will go off in the form of an audible tone and/or a light on the dash. This system will greatly reduce the number of accidents that occur because of a blind spots on a vehicle. Of course, you still need to use your mirrors while driving, this system is meant to assist the driver and relying solely on it when changing lanes or driving could result in an accident.
