The BMW ActiveHybrid 5 is one of the most fuel efficient luxury cars sold by the German auto manufacturer. The sports sedan features precise handling, the latest in safety features, and an aggressive style. The stock drivetrain in the car is a 3.0 liter turbo-inline six cylinder engine rated at 300 horsepower coupled to an eight-speed automatic transmission along with an electric motor rated at 54 horsepower. The total power output is 330 lb-ft of torque and 335 horsepower which allows the drive to enjoy automatic engine shut-off to conserve fuel while in traffic as well as all-electric driving. The motor is powered by a 317 Volt lithium-ion battery, and the overall gas mileage rating of the car is 23 MPG (city) and 30 MPG (highway).
