5. Mazda 5
The Mazda5 is a smaller than standard minivan, which likely leads to its weak sales numbers. The small size doesn’t make it a bad vehicle, though, and it certainly isn’t deserving of its dismal sales numbers. The Mazda 5 sells at 10% the volume of the Dodge Grand Caravan, that’s crazy. Sure the Caravan is larger, but not everyone that buys a minivan needs to transport 7 kids with tons of room right? The Mazda 5’s smaller size can be a good thing for families with a few kids. It still seats 7 passengers, though the rear seats are a little cramped, and it’s easier to park since it isn’t a land yacht. The smaller size makes it quicker and more fun to drive and results in a lower price compared to its competition. Maybe if people stopped thinking big automatically is better the Mazda 5 would see better sales.
