17. GMC Acadia
A point of pride with the new Acadia was that GMC was able to shave 700 pounds off the vehicle’s weight. Part of that loss came from using high strength steel as well as making the vehicle slightly smaller than previous models. The weight loss should help with fuel economy. Two engines are available with the new Acadia, a 2.5 liter four cylinder that produces 194 horsepower and a 3.6 liter V6 that produces 310 horsepower. Both options are mated to a six-speed automatic transmission. Front wheel drive is the standard, but all-wheel drive is an option. The style design of the Acadia is a more old school look, with a massive grille, boxy wheel wells, and muscular flares. The Denali trim level will be available on the Acadia as well.
