The Porsche Macan S is the first SUV model produced by the company since the debut of the Cayenne more than a decade ago. Hitting the market in 2015, the Macan S crossover is a size smaller than the Cayenne and shares its base architecture with the Audi Q5. The auto is a bit faster that the Audi; however, featuring a 340 HP 3.0 liter twin turbo six cylinder engine with all-wheel drive and a seven-speed transmission. The Macon is the cheapest Porsche to hit the U.S. market to date, and is rated at 17 mpg city / 23 mpg highway. For consumers desiring a larger luxury crossover, base models of the Cayenne sell for an equivalent price to the Macan. Seating of the vehicle is rated at five passengers despite the vehicle’s smaller size and is one of the most anticipated Porsche model releases in years.
