The Chevrolet Corvette has the distinction as being the most American made sports car on the market today. The sports car scores 10 points higher than the Ford Mustang on the Kogod American-Made Index with an 87.5 score, and it only loses points due to foreign made parts in the chassis, car body, and various interior components. The Corvette Stingray model features an eight cylinder, 6.2 liter engine that pulls 460 horsepower and 465 lb-ft of torque. Chevrolet also now lets consumers pick between a standard seven-speed manual or eight-speed automatic transmission. Additionally, consumers can get the Corvette Stingray as a convertible which is also fairly fuel efficient for a muscle car at 29 MPG (highway).
