5. Ford Expedition

The Ford Expedition is another SUV produced by the Ford Motor Corporation that ranks high on the Kogod index. Although the Expedition gets about one third of tis chassis components and its vehicle body from overseas, it does max out the score in the areas of engine production, labor, assembly, and research and development for an overall score of 82.5. Not only does the Expedition feature a new front and rear design, but the 3.5 liter, EcoBoost V-6 is a much more powerful engine that past model years of the vehicle featured. The new engine sees a 55 horsepower improvement over the legacy V-8 at 365 horsepower. The new Expedition is capable of traveling from zero to 60 MPH in just 6.4 seconds and has a top speed of 113 MPH.
