A 1964 Ferrari 250 LM model #6045 was sold on August 15, 2014 by RM Auctions in Monterrey, California for $11,550,000 USD. The sale made the car one of the priciest ever sold at an auction. The car is powered by a 3,286 aluminum-block V-12 engine rated at 320 horsepower with six Weber 38 DCN carburetors. It has a five-speed transmission, telescopic shock absorbers, anti-roll bars, four-wheel disc brakes, and an independent suspension with front and rear unequal length wishbones that include coil springs. The total wheelbase of the car is 94.4 inches in length. The 250 LM was an above average racing car when compared to other makes and models of the timeframe, and competed in the sports-prototype category.
