A 1960 Ferrari 250 GT California LWB Competizione Spyder was sold on August 19, 2012 by GT Gooding & Company in Pebble Beach, California for $11,275,000 USD. The sale made the auto one of the most expensive to be sold at auction. The car has the distinction of being Sherman Wolf’s first Ferrari, and is only one of nine alloy-bodied LWB California Spyders. The car has disc brakes, competition specifications, and covered headlights. The V-12 engine is rated at 2,953 CC producing 270 BHP at 7,000 RPM and is supported by three Weber 40 DCL6 carburetors. The car has a four-speed manual gearbox and an independent front suspension.
