On May 18, 2008 a 1961 Ferrari 250 GT SWB California Spider sold for $10,894,900 USD at RM Auctions Sotheby’s Maranello in Emilia-Romagna, Italy. The sales price made the car one of the most expensive ever sold at auction. The car is powered by the 2,953 cc SOHC Colombo V-12 engine rated at 226 BHP, and is supported by three Weber 40 DCL6 carburetors. It has a four-speed manual transmission along with an independent front suspension with parallel A-arms and coil springs. The vehicle is also a winner of the Ferrari Classiche Cup and the 2011 Cavallino Classic.
