On August 16, 2014, a 1961 Ferrari 250 GT SWB California Spider sold for $15,180,000 USD at the Gooding & Company located in Pebble Beach, California. This sale made the car one of the most expensive to be sold at a public auction. The car is one of the few that has the rare hardtop with the vehicle when compared to other California Spiders made in the same year by Ferrari. The car is powered by a 2,953 CC SOHC Tipo 168/61 V-12 engine rated at 240 horsepower at 7,000 RPM. It has a four-speed manual gear box and also includes four-wheel Dunlop disc brakes to go with tubular shock absorbers and an independent coil-spring front suspension.
