The Volkswagen Jetta Hybrid is a dual-mode hybrid, meaning the Jetta Hybrid has two motors: a gas powered 1.4-liter turbocharged 4-cylinder motor and an electric motor that gets its energy from a rear-mounted battery pack. Together they produce 170 horsepower and 184 lb-ft of torque. When not needed, the gas motor can be turned off and the vehicle can run off just the electric motor.
