Rather than having a gasoline motor assisted by an electric motor like most hybrids, the Porsche Cayenne has two different driving modes. A gas-only mode where a supercharged 3.0 liter V-6 producing 416 horsepower runs the vehicle, and an electric-only mode where the vehicle is powered by an electric motor. The Cayenne S E-Hybrid gets an EPA estimated 21 mpg city and 24 mpg highway in gas-only mode and 47 mpg-equivalent in electric-only mode. The suspension delivers a smooth, comfortable ride and the standard stability assist helps the Cayenne power through inclimate weather. For such a large SUV, the Cayenne has great handling, steering is responsive and there is almost no body roll when cornering. The interior is roomy and luxurious, as one would expect in a high end luxury vehicle.
