14. KITT from Knight Rider

The first car that truly was a character in a television show has to be KITT from the smash hit series Knight Rider. To be fair, KITT is now the name of two characters, the Knight Industries Two Thousand, which was the car featured in the original series, and the Knight Industries Three Thousand from the new series. But the original was a badass 1982 Pontiac Trans Am with artificial intelligence. The car was more of a super intelligent, advanced robotic automobile. Driven by David Hasselhoff, KITT became an instant favorite among TV viewers. The new series chose to go with a 2009 Ford Shelby GT500KR. But for those my age or older, KITT will always be a Trans Am.
