22. The Ferrari 250 GT California Spyder from Ferris Bueller’s Day Off
Popular high school senior Ferris Bueller skips school and coaxes his best friend Cameron to take his prized 1961 Ferrari 250 GT California Spyder with them to Chicago for the day. Cameron’s hesitance and his concern for the car play a large role in the film, as the car is taken on a joy ride by valets and eventually destroyed when Ferris tries to take mileage off the car by placing it on blocks, weighing down the accelerator, and putting it in reverse. Of course, the miles don’t come off and when the car falls off the blocks it is ejected out the back of the garage, two stories, destroying the car. We never see Cameron’s father’s reaction, but we can safely bet that Cameron was murdered upon discovery.
