4. Miami Vice’s Ferrari Testarossa
Miami Vice was a show in which the visual aesthetic feeling was just as important as the plot. Neon lights, flashy suits, big hair, and fast cars defined the detective show set in tropical Miami. Unhappy with the show’s original use of Ferrari replicas, Ferrari provided the series with two Ferrari Testarossas. The only condition was that showrunners had to demolish the replicas they had used. Eager to feature such a slick car and to avoid legal troubles, the producers agreed. The result is one of the sexiest cars to be featured on television. The Testarossa debuted in the show’s second season and would become an icon of the series. In the show, when Sonny Crockett complained to Lt. Castillo that about driving cars that didn’t fit his cover as a high rolling drug dealer, Crockett told him his new ride was outback, introducing the Testarossa.
