10. Don’t Negotiate on the Monthly Payment
A big mistake that first-time car buyers often make is to negotiate with the dealership on the monthly payment. Most of the auto dealership finance companies will use this as an opportunity to maximize the company’s profit on the sale of the car by keeping the overall price of the car the same and simply extend the timeframe that you will pay your car payment. This provides the auto company additional profit from the interest that you will pay on the car loan; however, many shoppers leave the lot extremely happy thinking that they have expertly negotiated a lower overall monthly car payment. Stay focused on the overall purchase price of the car at all times when buying a new car.
