3. Be Leery of Negotiating
Many consumers despise spending all day at the car dealership when buying a new or used automobile. If you are not the negotiating type, one technique that works for many shoppers is to simply refuse to engage in negotiating. When taking this tact, you should determine the amount you are willing to pay for the vehicle and inform your salesman or woman and the sales manager what your target figure is. If they refuse to meet the amount you are willing to pay, remain polite and decline any counter offer that they offer you. Instead, provide them with your phone and if desired, email contact information. If the dealership needs to make a sale, they will reach out to you sooner rather than later. This doesn’t mean that you will get the exact price you demand; however, it can save some time and frustration with the dealership you have started your car shopping experience with.
