8. 2010 Hyundai Tucson Crossover
The Hyundai Tucson is a midsize crossover that has a longer chassis but smaller turning circle than the Honda CR-V. That means that the Tucson offers more cargo space and more passenger legroom in both the front and rear seats than Honda’s model while being easier to park. Rear-seat passengers also have more headroom in the 2010 model than they did in previous years. Other changes improved steering, handling, and stability and lowered the height for easier entry. The 2010 model’s 176-horsepower, 2.4-liter four-cylinder engine improves fuel economy by 20 percent over the V-6 engine from previous models, but it provides the same power and acceleration. All-wheel-drive models achieve an estimated 21 mpg for city driving and 28 mpg on the highway. However, when paired with a six-speed automatic transmission, the 2010 Tucson achieves an estimated 23 mpg in the city and 31 mpg on the highway. That means that this Tucson is more fuel efficient than the Honda CR-V, the Ford Escape, Toyota Rav4, and the Nissan Rogue.
