15. Acura NSX
The NSX is a two seater, mid-engine sports car built by Honda and sold under the Acura name. The prototype was labeled project NS-X, which represented “New”, “Sportscar” and “eXperimental”. The NSX was the first car Honda ever built with an all aluminium body. The engine was an aluminium V6 engine that produced 290 horsepower and 224 lb-ft of torque. A four-speed automatic or a six-speed manual transmission were options. The NSX was the first production car to have an all-aluminium semi-monocoque body, with an aluminium alloy frame and suspension components. This resulted in a great deal of weight reduction, allowing the NSX to go faster. The engine featured titanium connecting rods, which allowed the engine to safely and reliably reach high rpm points for extended periods of time.
