21. Mitsubishi Lancer Evolution

The Mitsubishi Lancer Evolution is a high performance sports car based on the normal Lancer. There have been ten versions of the Lancer Evo since its arrival in 1992, all of them labeled with Roman numerals to designate each model. All versions use a 2 liter turbocharged engine and all-wheel drive systems. The Evolution was initially only offered in Japan, but the vehicle’s popularity and the high demand for the vehicle led to Mitsubishi offering the Evo through their ralliart dealer networks. In 2003 the Evo VII was made available in America. After seeing Mitsubishi’s success, Subaru followed suit and made the Evo’s long time rival, the Subaru Impreza WRX STi available in the U.S. as well.
