10. Chevrolet Camaro
Total deaths per millions vehicles: 80
Although the Chevrolet Camaro is one of the most popular American sports cars on the market, it continues to be one of the most deadly with 80 fatalities recorded on average across every million registered owners of the auto. Of the deaths, 60 were caused by single-car accidents, with 25 of these being single-vehicle rollovers indicating that the drivers might be pushing the auto beyond its capabilities. Despite the high number of deaths, the NHTSA (National Highway Traffic Safety Administration) continues to grant the maximum five stars out of five for the auto’s overall safety rating. The Camaro can go from zero to 60 MPH in just 4.5 seconds, and its engine features a nice 426 horsepower rating with a top speed of 156 MPH. Chevy has also worked on the overall fuel efficiency of the auto over time with the current model year Camaros enjoying a 16 MPG (city) and 24 MPG (highway) fuel efficiency rating.
