6. Ford Focus
Total deaths per millions vehicles: 70
The Ford Focus has been in production for a number of years and is rated as one of the most deadly autos on the road today with an average of 70 per million registered autos on the road. Ford has worked hard over the years to improve the safety features on the popular sedan with it being an IIHS ‘Top Safety Pick” for the 2014 model year. The Focus has been a huge hit with consumers since it first debuted more than a decade ago for its low price point, fuel economy (26 MPG (city)/ 36 MPG (highway)), and roomy interior. The car is powered by a 2.0 liter, four cylinder engine rated at 160 horsepower and a top speed of 121 MPH. The auto can go from zero to 60 MPH in 7.9 seconds, and the car is available with both a manual or automatic transmission depending on the owner’s preference.
