14. 1948 Tasco
The 1948 Tasco is one of the oddest cars that you will see. The auto was created under the American Sports Car Company brand, and its name is an acronym for the company’s name. The vehicle is part car and part airplane, and was designed by Gordon Buehrig (from Duesenberg). He used the form and design of fighter planes from World War 2 to create the automobile. Some of the features of the auto include fiberglass covering the front wheels which move with the steering input, and was the first car to feature a T-top roof. The car was created to potentially attract a production contract with the Beech Aircraft Company for similarly modeled automobiles, but that goal did not pan out for the company.
