8. Check to see if Your Credit Card Company Provides Car Insurance

In the event that you find your primary car insurance will not afford full coverage for your rental car, the next place to check is with the major credit card that you plan on using for paying for the car. In many cases, your credit card company will be able to cover any required difference with your primary policy, and just might provide better coverage. Most credit cards provide coverage with the intent of it being used as secondary coverage for rental cars.
