NSX was Honda’s answer to the question: “can we build a car to rival the Porsches and Ferraris of the world?” Honda was determined to build a world-class high performance sports car. The resulting vehicle impressed auto industry reviewers and serious drivers alike. NSX was a precise, high-tech machine that could easily compete with the best from Europe. It wasn’t the fastest car available, but it boasted a balanced, carefully-tuned chassis and had great performances. In fact, legendary Formula 1 racer Ayrton Senna personally assisted with the development of the car.

The two-seat, mid-engine NSX was produced in 1990 and continued until 2005. The car was ahead of its time in many ways. Most of its major systems were derived from Honda’s motorsports program. It featured an exceedingly stiff aluminum monocoque chassis and a double-wishbone front and rear suspension, much like a Formula 1 car. Its 3.0-liter V-6 boasted a screamingly high 8,000 redline, which was also more like a race car than a typical road car.
