12. Shelby GT500
At one time, Shelby GT was an offshoot of the Ford Mustang, but its platform has changed to the extent that Shelby GT500 now has little in common with its progenitor. Perhaps the most affordable way to get to 200+ mph, this car has a double overhead-camshaft, four-valve, eight-cylinder, 5,800-cc, 662-horsepower supercharged engine, a six-speed manual transmission, suspension upgrades, Brembo brakes, and a launch control system for smooth initial acceleration. Claimed top speed is 202 mph. Drivers have a choice between two-door coupe or convertible body styles.
