The Tatra 603 is one of the weirdest European autos of all time. The car was produced by Tatra between 1956-1975 in Czechoslovakia. The auto is a rear-engine designed and was produced as a luxury vehicle that is powered by a very large V-8 engine that weighs 350 lbs. The auto was one of the first in Europe to use the MacPherson strut suspension system, and was also employed as an auto racer despite being sold under the luxury branding. At the time of production, only high ranking Communist party officials and heads of factories were allowed to drive the autos. They would later be exported to other countries for sale as well.
